(4/12) Samsung Announces Breakthrough in Memory Speed

Manila, Philippines -- Samsung announces their breakthrough development in the memory front - with GDDR5 memory chips
topping out at 6Gbps (that's gigabits) transfer rate - which translates into 24GBps (gigabytes) transfer rates for a typical32-chip module.

Other improvements include lower power consumption due to the lower voltage draw of 1.5v, with the corresponding lower operating temperature. General availability through major graphics chips manufacturers is expected in the first half of 2008.
